Ok so this is my first post about how to prepare and write a groom wedding speech. Actually maybe this can help anybody trying to write a wedding speech. The main problem I faced was not only writing my speech for the weeding but the stress that came with it imagining that I would need to deliver it in a memorable way.
I mean that is what everybody expects right? Maybe you are experiencing this too. I was imagining everybody looking at me and analyzing every single word I was saying, hoping that it would be both meaningful and funny.
As you can tell I am not much of a public speaker and the though of standing in front of a group of people was a bit stressful. But this was Our wedding after all and there were hundreds of other things to stress about already! No point in adding one more.
Alcohol helping 
I took courage and started to write my speech. But that’s exactly the problem, where should I start? So this is how I did it. I simply didn’t start and left it for later. Of course I later found out that was a big mistake as I ended up scrambling for ideas in a messy way. So my advice would be: don’t make that same mistake. Try to plan ahead if you can, it will be much easier…
But most importantly Get started, write something down, anything really as long as it gets your brain going. Some examples that helped me write my groom wedding speech was thinking about where Julie and I met, our first dates, our important moments and best memories, stuff like that.
I actually found that speech prompts and guides were quite helpful in allowing me to structure my thoughts and put all that stuff together. Then I was able to tie it all together in a nice way and practice it a couple of times to ensure I would be ok delivering it. try to practice in front of mirror or a friend a couple of days before the wedding so that you can almost memorize it and when the time comes it would be second nature and definitely less stressful
Oh, and another thing, on your first written draft don’t immediately try to wrike wedding speech jokes or have a funny speech. You will start second guessing yourself. Just start with the important items get this right, then add some funny speech elements and tie it all together.
